Vaccinations and other Non-surgical Services
Friends of the Animals at Cedar Creek Lake is a 501[c][3] non-profit organization running the Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic in Gun Barrel City. This clinic is open to anyone anywhere and does surgery every Tuesday by appointment only, at 903-887-PETS (7387).
Administering the non-surgical services is a local veterinarian and Tincy Crocker.
We are open every Tuesday from 10-2 for non-surgical services (vaccinations, heartworm testing, microchipping, more). No appointment is necessary for the non-surgical services. (WATCH THIS SPACE FOR CHANGES.)
We are open the second Saturday of each month from 10am - Noon for non-surgical services (vaccinations, heartworm testing, microchipping, more). No appointment is necessary for the non-surgical services. .
As always, we will not be doing any wellness/evaluations at this clinic.
PRICING:
A rabies vaccination is $15, parvo/distemper/etc for dogs and the equivalent cat vaccination is $17.
A heartworm test is $30 with heartworm preventative available for sale for those dogs testing negative.
We sell Simparica, a top-of-the-line flea/tick for dogs – a monthly chewable priced at $20 for a single dose or $50 for box of 3-months.
There is a surcharge on every service for those animals not spayed/neutered.
This surcharge is refundable upon proof of this surgery (and does not have to be done by us).

Puppies and kittens need a series of 3 shots, beginning at 8wks and done 3-4 wks apart and should be wormed each time. YOUR PUPPY IS NOT PROTECTED FROM PARVO AND DISTEMPER WITHOUT ALL 3 SHOTS. Rottweiller & Pit Bull puppies are more prone to parvo and should have a TOTAL of 4 puppy shots.

This vaccination requires a booster 4 wks after initial. This vaccination is good for one year after the booster
before getting the FELV/FIV (feline leukemia) vaccination, a cat must be tested and be negative...This is a one-time test.

Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and feline leukemia virus (FeLV)
This is a one time test.
$14 Tapeworm Shot 0-15lbs
Selarid for cats – a topical monthly preventative for fleas, heartworm, round worms, hookworms, pinworms and earmites, priced at $10 for single dose or $50 for box of 6-months.
All our flea and tick meds, as well as heartworm preventative, are considered prescription medications and can only be dispensed when a doctor/patient relationship is established.
This means that if your pet comes into our clinic yearly for regular services (vaccinations, etc), you may purchase these items for him (heartworm preventative requires yearly, negative heartworm test). Otherwise your pet must come in yearly on a Tuesday between 10-1:30 or the Second Saturday of the month between 10-11:30 for a brief exam.
