| Star, a very gentle and submissive, probably young pit bull mix is in need of a forever home.
She is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative... she was found in the Waxahachie area about a month ago and rescuer got her healthy enough to be spayed in anticipation of finding a good home for her.
She is good with other dogs and with people but has not been around cats. She is housetrained.
She follows rescuer's male dog around property but doesn't wander off of immediate area. Loves her toys but mostly wants to be in your lap kissing your face.

Julie is a 15 lb. Pomeranian. Unknown age, but appears to be young 1-2 yrs. My guess.... (Vet estimated 1 yr.old, if that).
She was Spayed about 2 wks.ago, Started on Heartguard Tuesday, tested Neg. last week. She is pale apricot, shaded to cream on her belly. She is very sweet, calm, but can be frisky on occasion, & gets along well with my Doggies. She is getting along with a 6 yr
spayed pom, a 4 year old neutered pom and a pom/chiweeine/Pappion? mix, spayed, of
undetermined age. All are smaller then she is. She is a little timid around
larger dogs, she seems to want to be as far away as possible from them,
I noticed when I was walking her.
She has learned to potty (pee) on command with mine these last 2 weeks.
To poop she needs to walk a while longer.
She has not asked to go out, but does go outside with all mine when we walk & does her business.
I found out this morning that she can Bark, but it's not shrill & it's the first time I've heard her bark since she's been here (2 wks.), & not much whining.
She will walk on a leash without pulling. She misses her owner and wants to be loved.
Very Snuggly!
She lays still for mat removal, Bathed easily, Combed out Easily (no fighting the comb or brush) & has not shown any aggression at all.
She appears to have separation anxiety, but does well with kenneling her while I'm not at home.
Julie's adoption fee is $50.00, to cover some of her Vet expenses.
Any other questions, please give me a call.
Thanks,
Linda Stout

There is a family that is looking to place their beloved. They lost their jobs but have since started working again. They still cannot give the little man what he needs and wants to rehome him. His name is Odie. Odie is a bassett/dachshund mix and is just adorable. He is about 2 to 3 years of age, neutered, microchiped, inside/outside baby, good with kids and other dogs. I am not sure on the shots or potty training. He is very healthy and well taken care of. They live in Highland park. If anyone knows of a place for this baby please let me know. I can possibly get him picked up and transported. He needs a new home before he is placed at a shelter.
Please pass on the word, cross post. I am very fond of them long skinny dogs let me know if there are any interests. These babies need help.

Corgi in need of forever home! Age: Approximately 18 months. Buddy has a kind heart, but more energy than 2 dogs.
Loves people, particularly men. Does get along with other dogs, but prefers people!
He is an excellent house dog and hasn't been destructive inside. Loves being in the midst of things. Outside, left to own devices, he digs holes. Needs to spend lots of quality time with people. However, he's too energetic for small children. Would fare better with older, gentle boys and men!
Looking for patient, active, athletic owner who will take him jogging or out to work with the Sheep! Or, would make an excellent agility competition dog! Not interested in Couch Potato existence. Buddy wants action!
However, after a busy day in the fields or on the hiking path, would chill out and watch television! Under all that energy, lurks a sweet boy in search of patient owner.
Buddy was in four homes prior to 6 months of age! He has spent the past 8 months with my Corgi clan, learning to trust and not to be so reactive. He's a very promising performance dog, but does require a gentle, but firm, and fair hand. And of course he's neutered, housetrained, and on hw preventative...there is an adoption fee.

We are expecting 4 or 5 litters today.
They are very small, weighing about 1 lb each. The woman that brought them in said mom weighed about 15-20 lbs. I asked why mom did not come in with the puppies. She said she didn't know. Anyway the puppies are trying to eat. We are going to worm and give first shots today.
If anyone has room for some new babies, please let me know. Thank you for considering helping these babies.

I have a litter of puppies. They are terrier mixes. Mom weighs about 20 lbs and looks like a small shepherd. They are on my petfinder and the link is below.
http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/TX854.html
Their names are Natasha, Lara Croft, Zelda, Luke, Sonic and Mario. They have had all three of their puppy shots, have been wormed and are healthy. They have never been in the shelter. They have been with a foster mom, Lois Reller, who I have copied on this email. This litter needs rescue to make room for other litters coming in.
I will help with transport. If you have any questions about the puppies, Lois would be the best person to ask. Thank you for your consideration.

Found dog now at Tool shelter - ready to add a fabulous dog to your household??
Jingle little girl came up to me on Monday while I was doing one of my cleaning jobs down the road from me. I drove around for about an hour trying to see if she was just lost.
Animal control is going to take her to the Tool Shelter..yes I know bad place but I just can't keep her. Wish I could but can't. She is super sweet and is house broken. She waits until I let her out of the shed to pee and poop. Does not bark nor whine while in the shed alone. She does not growl when you take her food. She is submissive to other dogs..found that out when walking her around the country trying to find her home.
She stayed with me for 10 hours while I was cleaning that houses windows. She is just sooooo sweet. Obviously part pyreness and chow as her tongue is black. I'd say she is about 8-9 months old.
Do you know anyone who wants a beautiful kind loving puppy?

Fabulous neutered, housetrained rescued dog needs his forever home NOW - going to a shelter next week!!

Hi, my name is Boomerang, Boomer for short. As you can see from my photos, I am a pretty handsome fella. Not only am I good looking, I am a really sweet dog. I wandered up to a really nice house a few weeks ago and the folks who live there took pity on me and let me stay until they can find me a "Furever" home. First thing when I got there, I had my first ever trip to the vet to get checked out. I had ear mites but my foster mom was very vigilant in giving me my medicine so those nasty things are gone. Wouldn't you know it, we went back to the vet again. This time they gave me shots and then I took a little nap. When I woke up, I knew something was different but I just couldn't quite figure it out. I knew I still wanted to be outside a lot but I couldn't remember why. Then I heard my foster mom talking to her friend and she said I had gotten "Fixed". I didn't even know I was broken. Can you believe it??
Shortly after getting "fixed", I decided I would check out the neighborhood without asking my foster mom's permission. I must have made someone very angry because they shot at me with a big gun. I didn't get hurt but I was so scared. I ran and ran until I couldn't remember where my foster family lived. I wouldn't give up though and kept searching for them for a long time. After a week of searching, I finally found them again. I was so happy!! They were very worried about me and thought the worst. It was a happy reunion.
My foster mom and dad have been very patient with me. They taught me to walk on a leash. Let me tell you, it's so nice to go walking with them and not have to worry about some dummy with a gun trying to kill me. They have also taught me the safety of going into my crate. I love it. Sometimes just for fun, I get up on top of my crate and survey my kingdom. Unfortunately, my foster family has 2 other old dogs that do not like me. They growl at me all the time and act like codgers. They won't play with me and I really want a young dog that likes to do the same goofy stuff I do or maybe even some kids!! That would be so cool. I have a ton of energy and can run and play for hours on end if only I had someone that could keep up with me.
If your family fits this bill, would you consider taking another really kind, gentle, sweet, smart, funny, adorable, good looking guy with a great smile into your family?? I would be ever so grateful.
Thanks from the bottom of my furry little paws,
Boomerang, aka Boomer
P.S. You can call my foster folks at 903-872-2556 or try to catch my foster mom on her cell phone 902 654 2472 |

Gorgeous, gentle female mix needs a forever home please!
A beautiful female - a stray who wandered up to a kind house - is in need of her forever family.
She is 65 lbs, spayed, vaccinated. She has never been in the house but an adult dog can be housetrained in about 15 minutes!
She is very submissive (so would be easy to incorporate into household with other dogs), likes other dogs and is afraid of cats. She rides well in the car.
Contact Leslie Davis at momstaxicab2121@aol.com or at 903-829-2121 or 903-245-4810 for more info on this great dog. |

Yes, another dumped dog on a country road in Van Zandt County, imagine that?!
Please take a look at the gorgeous pup found wandering back and forth on our road shortly thereafter. He doesn't have a name, so we'll call him "Dog Doe". My neighbors have taken this beautiful boy in, but cannot keep him. "Dog Doe" is gorgeous! He is young, guessing between 7-9 months, looks like a Smooth Coat Border Collie or Aussie, or maybe a cross between one of those and a Catahoula (?), unaltered (of course), has one amber eye & one blue (with a dark speck?)..... VERY friendly, appears healthy, loves kids. Since he's been at their house, he has not left, and they don't even have a fenced yard. Nor does he chase cars. He's basically living in their carport and following the gentleman around. So.......
Is there anyone out there that might be able to help this fella? We can help with transport and a donation will be made towards his vetting. PLEASE contact me if you can help, or know someone who might be able to, or if you have any other suggestions for this guy.
P.S. -- If anyone by chance recognizes this dog, or knows who this dog belonged to, please contact me asap, as well.
THANKS!!

Macy Mae is a 5 week old Tortoise shell kitten. She was thrown from a vehicle traveling on Hwy 75 in McKinney. A nice lady stopped and picked her up and brought her to us while we were showing dogs at Petsmart. Instantly you could tell that the damage to her rear leg was beyond repair. Tomorrow she goes into the vet and is having it amputated. She is a little sweetie and deserves a chance. Surgery fees for her are not that much, about $300. So it won't kill us. We just need to save some healthy dogs for awhile. Oh yeah, we rescue dogs don't we. Well, she needs our help as well. Will start taking applications for her adoption so that she can heal and recover with a new family.
What is it this week? First DiNozzo and his 3 legs and now little Macy Mae.

Natalie is a beautiful 12-year old Schnauzer girl whose owner recently passed. One of the family members took her to the vet to be euthanized (don't even get me started on what I would like to do that person) I guess because they couldn't be bothered with her. This sweetheart has been well taken care of her entire life and was recently groomed as you can see from the photos. Natalie weighs 22 lbs., is heartworm negative as of 5/5/10, had all of her shots on the same day and comes with several months of hw prevention and Advantage flea treatment.
At 12, she is a senior but still has a few good years to give to an owner who will love her and she will return the love a thousand times over. I have not met Natalie yet but I was told she acts much younger. She is currently in East Texas but transportation can be arranged. If you are that forever home or are a rescuer who thinks you might know of a home, please contact me directly at melsingletary1@yahoo.com.
Please feel free to forward this to friends, family members and co-workers.
Thanks,

Molly is a 4 yr old Siberian Husky that wes an owner surrender. Molly came to us with 2 puppies and a deformed front leg. The owner said her leg had been that way for over a year. Molly is a sweet girl that loves people and will talk to you in her Husky "WOOing" all day long. She loves to ride in the car and is well behaved in a crate. She walks on a leash and is great with other dogs. She will be spayed and get her shots in the next couple of weeks.
Molly has been evaluated by a local vet and it has been decided that the best thing is to amputate the leg. Molly now tries to walk on the leg that is substancially shorter than her other front leg. We do not know what happened to her to cause this situation. And her owner obviously did not care as he did not seek vet care for her when it happened. If you would like to help Molly, please make your donation at www.hsccl.org, click on the donation button. Please make sure you note on the donation form that your donation is for Molly.

Hi All..... I'm running out of options and need your help with and/or input on a "longtermer" in our program ..... We are looking for a home, foster or rescue for Liesel, a stocky 60lb, 3 year old mix breed female.
We've had breed id's ranging between Boxer/Boston mix, Fila Brasileiro
mix, Boxer/Bulldog.....and of course Pitbull - any bully looking dog automatically becomes a Pitt nowadays. All I know is that she's a beautiful brindle, sweet girl with impeccable manners who is very obedient and ADORES children. Liesel is housetrained, crate trained, leash trained, loves to go for rides, and will stay in a fence (in other words, not a fence jumper; she doesn't try to get out of a fenced yard). She doesn't chew up stuff and can be left alone without worry, but may dig a hole to stay cool in the dirt if left outside on warm days. She does NOT like cats, and probably not birds either. She's also selective about which dogs she'll tolerate.
The best news? Liesel is spayed, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm negative and on prevention, as well as monthly Frontline, and microchipped. But the sad truth is, Van Zandt County is no place for Liesel! We're having a very hard time finding her "good" forever home and due to our current foster losing their home and no other foster space that meets her criteria within our own rescue group, we're being forced to board her. She's a great dog and I'm at my wit's end at the moment.
We're asking for your help with crossposting her to reputable groups (not Craigs List); or if you know of a home that she might fit into; or even someone who could foster her for us; or maybe do a swap with another Rescue Group from another area that might be having difficulty placing one in their area; or place with a Rescue Group specializing in bully breeds???? ALL OTHER IDEAS ARE WELCOME?!?! We appreciate any and all help we can get. She really is a great dog!!
Please take a look at Miss Liesel and contact me directly to discuss any
possibilities. And THANK YOU; I know I can count on the support of this
Rescue Community!

Adorable dumped 10-wk old puppy needs forever home please - NOW!
A little wormy-bellied female puppy, complete with fleas, in their yard. We've named her Gretchen; I'm guessing she's about 10-12 weeks old? A Red Heeler - Hound mix with gorgeous amber eyes & a red nose. She's a normal puppy -- funny, feet too big for her body, wiggly, chewy and super cute! But of course they cannot keep her. She is staying in their carport and isn't bothering to leave, just as Dog Doe did. I'm providing them wormer for the next 3 days and flea meds, and we're trying to find someone with a big heart to take her........ A donation will be made towards her vetting, as well, and transport help can be arranged.
Please take a look at this little Texas cutie and if you can't help, please crosspost to your reputable contacts. Thanks so much!!!!

Ill kittiens need place to recover for 2 weeks!
This is a cry for help........ We have 2 young kittens, maybe 10 weeks old or so, rescued from an abandoned house that are in need of temporary care. After taking them in and to the vet, getting shots and wormed and one treated for an injury, they developed diarhea which has been attributed to a nasty intestinal bacteria. Unfortunately, their foster mother just had surgery and it is very hard for her to take care for them at this time. Due to both hers and the cat's health issues, I feel it best to move these kitties temporarily to a home that would be willing to take them on as they recover, and that can keep them separated from other cats & dogs during this time. They have been transported to our vet, but cannot stay there.
We're guessing about 2 weeks would be the needed time frame, if someone would be willing to nurse these cuties back to health. Is there anyone out there that could give us a hand with this situation??? Please let me know ASAP!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!

Can I interest anyone in a female Beagle named Scout??? And possibly a female Dachshund named Blitz??? These 2 dogs are in Van, just east of Canton off I-20.

Scout

Blitz
This lady and her husband are having to take their company on the road and will be traveling extensively. After weighing the options, they've decided it's best to rehome their 2 dogs. Scout is a Beagle, Blitz is a Dachshund. If you have any interest in either or both of these cuties, please contact Renee below.
I know everyone is full; I know this isn't a story that tugs at the heartstrings; but I also know these 2 great dogs will end up in one of our county's high kill shelters if these 'owners' can't find a home(s) for them. Because they are already vetted, housetrained and get along with most everything, I'm asking for help from our rescue community. It's for the dogs!

These two adorable fluffy, lovable cuddlers are Grayson (male) and Elli (female). They are 2 of many, many offspring from 2 pregnant females whose
family moved and left them and one tomcat behind. I have found homes for
6 of the babies. Will need homes for the Moms as well but one is feral. In the past 2 years, these neighbors bestowed on me about 24 cats, 8 of
which I still have (spayed & neutered, of course), not including these 2 and
their Moms and their tomcat Daddy. I am over run and can't keep them.
Both are 13 weeks, have been wormed, had shots (including Rabies) and are
ready for their forever home. Would love to see them go together but not
mandatory. Just hate to see them with no playmate--they just love each
other and love to play together!
Will be most happy to pay for spay and neuter to loving home. Please
forward to animal lovers only. They are way too cute and sociable to be
barn cats.

Help! need foster home for 1 month for 2 inidoor cats & permanent home for 2 dogs PLEASE!
I am currently unemployed and living at my brother's place. (He lives elsewhere). He is about to move back, and has stated that if I don't find a home for the two stray dogs I've been feeding and the cats my mother left (she died in October), he will shoot them.
The dogs are a mother (we gave away her puppies--my neighbor and I are feeding her), about six months old or more, part black lab it looks like, very sweet-natured but jealous for attention, and another dog that is medium build, and appears to be part wolf or husky. He is very sweet--would be perfect for kids--but a little skittish till he gets used to you.
I only need a foster home for the cats, as I will move asap and can take them back. There are two--both indoor, litter-trained, and fixed. I need someone who could take them for about a month, and I could provide supplies.
I am at my wit's end thanks to my brother. If these animals are shot, it will kill my heart.
If you know of any person or organizaion that can help me, please email me or call me at 972-839-7174.
My friends at Four Mle Lutheran recommended I start with ya'll since I live in Kaufman.
Thank you for your help, and for all the work you do.

Two beautiful medium sized dogs abandoned & need homes NOW please!

I don't know what kind of dogs they are, they are female. No idea how old they may be. They are medium to small dogs. The tan one seems to be about 30lbs, the black & white one maybe 25lbs.
The black & white one is very thin, I can easily feel her ribs, and seems to be skittish (may have been abused). The tan one seems very sweet and likes to lick.
This afternoon I plan to take them to Lakeside Animal clinic to be checked out.

Baron is a 3 yr old Boxer. He is neutered, HW neg and current on his shots. Baron's PetFinder bio and pics are below.
Baron was returned to the shelter this morning because he could not get along with the dogs at his adoptive home. Baron has been at the shelter for over a year and has been adopted out 3 times. He is always returned because he could not get along with the dogs or cats at his new home. So we are now looking for Baron a home as an ONLY dog.
Baron is a great dog, loving, well behaved and happy. He loves to run and fetch and play with his toys. He is housebroken.
Please cross post this to everyone you know. Baron's time is limited at the shelter.

Two Pit Girls Found After Being Fought or Beaten - they need permanent or foster homes!

A gentleman called me and has found two young Pit girls. When Dan first found them, they were bloody and bruised from either fighting or being beaten. He picked them up and has had them a couple of weeks. Most of the wounds have healed. Dan currently has them tied out of his property back in some trees so no one can see that they are back there. He is afraid who ever hurt them, might be looking for them. Dan is unable to keep these girls because he travels alot. He needs these girls placed in a safe situation by tomorrow, as he leaves to go out of town for a week Wednesday.
Please consider helping these Pittie Girls. We will help with transport, shots and morming. If you can help, please call the number below, email here or my cell phone is 903 603-2342.

I'd like to introduce BULLET, the handsome young Heeler-mix boy that was rescued from being short-chained in an old shed in Van Zandt County. After a neighbor fed & cared for him, then learned he was facing sure death, she came to his rescue & was able to get an owner-relinquishment. Another very wonderful rescuerthen stepped in & gave him an immediate -- albeit temporary -- safe, clean & caring place to go.
Now all we have to do his help him find his REAL forever home! Bullet is around 2 years old & weighs roughly 40 lbs. (the perfect size for an inside/outside family dog, in my opinion). Although we do not know for sure if he is housetrained, he could be in no time! He's smart, playful, likes kids & gets along well with other female dogs (males not known at this time). With a little TLC & attention, Bullet will make a wonderful addition to any family. He is vaccinated & is scheduled for his neuter on 1/12/10. His adoption donation is being set at $50 to help cover vet/care expenses.
Bullet deserves to know what a dog's life SHOULD be like. Please, if you or someone you know can show this boy some love & give him a place he can run & play & enjoy life, consider granting Bullet a 2nd chance! If you are interested in adopting, fostering or are a rescue that has room for another in need, please contact:

Mittens loves people, will be happy indoors. Will lie on her back in your arms and gently touch your face. Very cuddly, approx 6 months old with 4 white feet, great personality. Has been spayed and vaccinated for rabies.
This kitty has tested positive for feline AIDS, which is contagious to other cats through saliva... so she needs to be an inside and ONLY cat... it is NOT contagious to dogs or people.
She will be a wonderful family member to some lucky people!

Bloomie
Max
We are trying to help place these two fully vetted PB Shepherds into rescue. If I can't find a rescue to take them, I'm also looking for help in getting them posted for adoption to the public.
Bloomie, the female & Max, the male (who is camera shy) are both 2 yrs. old & have been together for life. I'm not holding out hope that I can get them placed or adopted as a pair, although that would be GREAT!
They are both altered, utd on shots and have been kept on hw preventative. These two are extremely loving & well mannered and will even eat from the same bowl at the same time! They are good with kids (amazing with babies) and mesh & play well with other dogs, they haven't chased cats thus far & have had opportunities. Neither have shown any inclination toward roaming or running off when outside our fenced area.
I'm helping a friend try to place these two due to her husband's health. They are currently with me and I will serve as their foster/contact for now.
If I cannot get them into a rescue... Would one of you courtesy list them on PetFinder for me? Any adoption donation received would most certainly go to the group who helps Bloomie and Max find a home.
Thanks,

Here is a dog I found on the road about one and a half or 2 years ago. I had her spayed at Friends and an elderly lady adopted her that very day. Her husband was very sick and died Oct. 2008. She also broke her back and had to have surgery. She is unable to go outside to play with the dog because her bones are very brittle and she cannot take a change because of this Trixie loves other dogs and would go down to the neighbors to play with their 3 dogs. The former owner had acreage, but because of her back, she cannot take a chance on falling. Trixie is housetrained and loves company. The former owner said Trixie liked to walk neighbor children to the bus stop and make sure they got on the bus for school. She was not around cats so don't know about that. We picked her up and she licked my hand all the way to the shelter where she is staying for now.
If someone is interested, I could bring her to the Friends of the Animals clinic or she can be seen at Henderson County Humane Society in Athens.
Please open your heart to this precious dog.
Thank You!

My name is Biskit. I had it rough one time before but things have been going good, until now. My buddy, my mate, got killed one day while we were crossing the road. I stayed with him until this nice man stopped and picked me up and tried to find me a home. Well no one wanted me then so he kept me. Now he is having hard times and is leaving and I now need a place to go. I am approximately 12 years old fully vetted and neutered at Friends of the Animals. I have minor cataracts, am deaf but my teeth are clean. I will need a home that likes us guys that like to snuggle and to keep you warm and fuzzy. Are you ready for me to spend my valuable time guarding your lap? I am ready for you.
Please ask to visit with me very soon. I would love to get the rest of my life started.

Pit Mom with 9 puppies NEED FOSTER HOME NOW!
This family came in yesterday with Kaufman County Anaimal Control. Mom is a Pit Mix with 9 puppies of every color combonation. The puppies appear to be about a week old. Foster needed desperately. The puppies are not going to tolerate this heat well. Mom has been given her first DHPPL and we have started worming.
Please consider helping this family.

Riddick came to us about 4 months ago. He had pnuemonia, HW pos and a very unhappy boy. He has been neutered and has had his first HW Treatment and is current on his shots. It was hard on him, but he is bouncing back. He has his next treatment in the next week and half. I would really like to have a foster or rescue for him to go home to after treatment.
Riddick is house broken but will counter surf for what ever might be in his reach. He absolutely hates to be groomed and will growl and grumble the whole time. He does great with other dogs, big and little. Walks on a leash and rides well in a car.

This is "Toby"...he is somewhere around 8-9 months old. He definitely is from a Black Lab and an Australian shepherd therefore a "mixed breed" and not wanted by the owner. The foster family took him in as a puppy and raised him. The young woman is 25 with a four year old son. she just moved and cannot have a pet inside.
He rides well in the car...or the Expedition as I have.
I had a couple who was interested but they are thinking they might be able to handle training one this age. He does not like being on a leader and will jump and bark until he is let off. Once inside the house, he is the perfect gentleman...with the exception of chewing up an occasional remote control. But hey, my daughter has a Newfoundland who is now five years old and she still has a taste for the remote and absolutely loves to eat Blackberry cell phones.
Anyway, I would keep him but I have a larger dog and several cats already.
Hope you can find him a wonderful new family.
Thanks for all your help.

Need to Place 3 Dogs!
Due to finances and with a heavy heart, I need to place three of my dogs. One is a jack-russel/shi tsu mixed female (1 year and has an appointment with Fof A next month), 7 month old bassett hound mixed female (also has appoint), and a 12 year old german shephard/chow mixed male (late husband never had him neutered). I have heard of a sanctuary for elderly dogs in this area and would like to place Bijou there, but need help in doing so.

Princess is a very sweet little dog with that jack russell personality. She would be great with a family with or without teenage children and only one other dog. She likes to chase cats, but would not hurt them - just likes to play. A family with a lot of love and attention to give would be right up her alley.

Suggie is also a very sweet knee-high dog. I'd say that she is just too smart for her own self and hard-headed at that. That is, if she doesn't want to stay pinned, then she'll find a way out. With this, Suggie would love to be out in the country where she could run and have children to play with. With her brilliance, Suggie would be easy to train and possibly be used as a work dog out on a farm.
With this, I would appreciate any help you can give in locating a new home for my dogs.
With much appreciation,
Sherry Doty

Lucky is a 3-year-old, black Lab mix. He has been neutered and is current on
all his shots. He takes Sentinel each month for the prevention of heart
worms and fleas. Very sweet and gentle, and quick to learn. Loves to run and
play with other dogs. He has not had much exposure to children or cats.
Taken in as a stray, but he needs more attention and play time than we can
give him.

2 small adorable senior dogs need new home!

Here are pictures of Sam and Libby. They are littermates. About 10
years old. Have always lived in the country and have never been trained to a leash. Great disposition. Love people. Get along well
with other dogs. When allowed to come inside they stay at back door
and do not wander through house. Used to sleeping in a large crate at
our barn. All shots are up to date. In good health. On heartworm meds. Always had yearly checkups. Love to play.

Beautiful wanderer husky mix in need of the right home....spayed!
This GORGEOUS dog is in need of a new home or rescue group that can keep her safe. Taken in by her current family, they are not going to be able to keep her. Foxy has been challenging for them and they believe she'd be better in a place that understands her breed/mix better and can give her adequate shelter/fencing that she won't be able to escape from. Not only is it not safe for her to be running loose in rural Van Zandt County -- where most times the solution to loose dogs is considered a bullet -- but she doesn't like cats or chickens, so that could get her in a LOT of trouble with neighbors.
The family lives out in the country with no adequate fencing or containment area, and are having to tie her out to keep her from roaming....must be the Husky in her! :) We're trying to rehome Foxy to give her a better life.
Approx. 7 years old, spayed, and current on all annual shots!!!
She is very, very smart.
Husky mix
She is an escape artist.
Approximately 60 to 65 lbs.
Very protective of her family.
Does not like cats or chickens.
She is okay with some smaller dogs, if not too hyper.
Not sure how she would be with kids. But she has done fine with my kids, ages 13 and 15.
Does not like to be messed with when eating.
Very shy, takes a little bit to warm up to you.
She will "warning" growl if she doesn't like someone/something, but has never attempted to bite.
She talks to you to in her own weird way, which is so endearing and cute.

This SWEET little dog just showed up at my house and will not leave....she is very sweet, not sure how old, but definitely a puppy! She seems to have a bit of chow (little black on the tongue), maybe some Lab! One ear lobs as you can probably see! (cute) I have let her just stay in my front yard thinking maybe someone would recognize her, but no luck in that area.....wish I could keep her, but I live in town where I already have 4 dogs and 3 cats! Just cannot take on another one! She just stays around the yard, sleeps in my garage and lays on the front porch during the day.
I really want to find a good home for her because she is such a good, sweet natured and well-behaved puppy...I can hang on to her as long as I need to, but would love some help finding someone that has more time for her! Not sure of weight, comes to about my knees. She had a flea collar on when she showed up here, but looked like she had been "out" and "about" for awhile. Let me know what you think and if you need to call me, feel free to do so...my cell # is 903-288-7930.
thanks again,

Because I missed my exit a Mama Aussie and her Aussie/Pyr mix puppy need a home/rescue. Grab a tissue.....
On Tuesday while on my way to work, just west of Terrell, I missed my exit and had to go one further. I noticed what appeared to be a lion cub (?!) on the side of the road; it had been hit. I took the exit and circled back around to check it out, of course. Sadly, it was a large breed puppy and it was deceased. There were no residential areas for a couple miles either direction, so I had no idea where it had come from. I pulled it from the road and proceeded to make a U-turn to continue on my way. It was then I noticed what LOOKED to be a baby calf maybe caught in the fence??? I pulled over to check it out, of course. I thought it was dead, too -- then saw movement beside it. A very pretty tri-colored Australian Shepherd w/ docked tail, slinked out to greet me, followed by a crawling precious large breed puppy with ice blue eyes and severely injured back legs!
They ate out of my hands and let me pet them. Within minutes I was able to place the injured pup in my car, along with the bag of food, but Mama dog was determined NOT to leave her deceased pup. It was very sad -- and hot!!! She let me slip a lead around her but wouldn't get in the car. Sweaty, hair-do now a ball of frizz and work clothes dirty and full of stickers, I finally sat beside her in the ditch, stroking her soft fur and pleaded. "Mama, c'mon. It's hot out here, you have no food or water and your puppy is gone. There's nothing we can do for her now, but your other puppy is hurt and he needs you." At that moment, she pulled away, forcing me to drop the lead, and ran down the embankment to the highway, (me screaming the whole time!) where she nudged her dead pup, gave her a lick, then turned and ran back to me, allowing me to pick her up and put her in the car. True Story. And I cried all the way to the nearest vet.
So..... Terri (mama dog) and Jeepers (large pup) are residing at Risinger Vet Clinic for the time being, and their docs and staff have been AMAZING getting these 2 cleaned up and cared for, and letting them board there together temporarily! Because I cannot find flyers posted, or vets or ACO's with reports of an owner looking for these dogs in and around this area, and since they are not chipped and not wearing collars, they now desparately need a rescue or home! Can anyone please help these two towards a better life? (There is no way I'm taking them to any of the "shelters" near there.)
TERRI is a young, less than 2 years old, tri-colored Aussie with a docked tail. She is very sweet, very friendly, a little timid at first as I'm sure she's a bit freaked out. She's on the skinny side but otherwise appears healthy. She's had her vaccinations/rabies and is scheduled to by spayed either today or tomorrow. A very nice dog.
JEEPERS is an absolutely gorgeous Aussie/possibly Pyrenees mix, about 5 months old (still has baby canines), longer white hair with a few brown spots and ice blue eyes! Sweet as can be! Turns out the injuries to his back legs are old (?!) and x-rays did not show any broken bones. The swelling is due to severe infection and with time and TLC, he is expected to fully recover. He is already walking around without his back legs going out from under him! He is on pain meds and strong antibiotics, and will be vaccinated. His neuter will have to wait until he's recovered in a couple weeks.
I have the vet expenses covered, and can also help with transport -- PLEASE, can someone take these highly adoptable babies???? And if not, please crosspost to reputable groups!! I'm attaching a few pics after they were cleaned up. I appreciate any efforts for these beatuies.

Katie Sue is a young (approx. 7 mos) spayed female Border Collie/Lab mix in desperate need of a loving home. She is UTD on vaccinations including Rabies.
Her personality is wonderful! She gets along great with other dogs, LOVES people. She is so happy to meet you that she actually GRINS! She is smart, affectionate, intelligent, learns quickly and wants so badly to please you!
She was abandoned at a local Tree Farm in Colfax, TX (area between Tyler and Canton). One of her dog buddies was killed by a tractor working the Farm. Katie Sue was rescued by a neighboring homeowner, vetted, brought to good health and is now needing her very own family. She cannot stay with the neighbor indefinitely as this kind lady already has a number of dogs, most are rescues.
Contact: Barbara at 903-707-0646 if you or someone you know would like to meet Katie Sue and give this beautiful gal a loving home.
Just LOOK at her pictures then help us place her in a great home! |

I rescued an abused puppy that is 4 months old and I am looking for all the help I can get to find it a home... I am on disability and can not afford to pay alot of money for shot and him to be fixed but I could not stand by and wach this puppy get kicked by the owners any longer and not get the love he deserves. I can not keep him because I have my own animals and my landlord would have a fit if I had another animal here. I want a home for him - can someone please help me somehow?

Name: Bo; Nicknames: Bo-baby or Bo-bo
Breed: Australian Shepherd
Age: 4 years old
DOB: April 4, 2006
Weight: 71 lbs.
Info: He is neutered, has all his shots including the ones for grooming and boarding; he is on Heartworm preventive medication and frontline. He is shy and scared around new people but once he gets to know you, he’s playful and loving. He enjoys playing ball and going for walks. He can be territorial and protective. He tends to be afraid of loud noises. He is an intelligent, medium-sized dog with guardian instincts. He would do best as an only dog but does get along with other dogs. He needs someone who would be patience and willing to work with him to gain more self confidence.

SPOT the bulldog's family is having HARD times. He needs a new home.
Only one couple has come to meet Spot but since he's still recovering from some kind of skin infection the wife didn't want him. Will's been treating him with a dip and said it's getting better. (Their vet said it was most likely irritation from fleas). He said they'd love to keep him but feel he deserves better care than they're able to give him right now. I could tell he's really going to miss him. He said Spot sleeps in bed with him and he's the one who refused to see him turned into the shelter.
Poor Spot has had no inquiries about him and now the family just lost their electricity. They're getting desperate to find a place for him or they'll be forced to take him to the shelter. At 8 yrs old with a skin infection, you know what his fate will be. Please...can anyone find a little room for this sweet boy???

Adorable, young, medium sized dog running on highway 19 - NEEDS A HOME!! This is the sweetest "people" dog I have ever seen. She is so docile and just wants to be close to someone. She is not a barker, so might not be a good watchdog, but she would make a very loyal companion. And, she loves being inside. Please take a peek! She needs a home away from Hwy. 19 and unfortunately I cannot have her hanging around my shop.
Thanks for looking! Contact:

~25 CATS & 3 DOGS OUT OF TIME AT FORECLOSED HOME!
A week or so ago I had sent out a plea for help for a man who lost his home just outside of Canton, not far off I-20. He has been trying (even for a month or so prior) to find assistance for the animals he had to leave behind when he lost his home. There are 25 cats (all tame) and 3 dogs -- he is taking 3 dogs with him, that's all he has room for as he now lives in a FEMA travel trailer. The bank lady in charge of putting the home on the market is NOT an animal lover. Her cleaning crew has now refused to clean up the place to get it ready until the animals are removed from the property!!!!! This has now turned URGENT for these animals!
Thanks to those who have offered help with loading and transporting and crates/carriers -- we'll need it!!!!! I'll keep you posted when that time might be.
As of right now, we have:
A home for an outside female cat (THANK YOU BECKY);
CCLHS has offered to take 6-8 cats;
Henderson County H.S. will take 6-8 cats.......
That's excellent news and I thank you all -- BUT, we still have the remaining cats availabe and 3 dogs!!!! I will try to get photos within the next day or two, but all 3 remaining dogs are unspayed, medium sized females:
FRECKLES: 45-50 lbs., white w/ brown spots all over her body, around 1 year old.

MUTLEY: Boxer mix, tan w/black mask, 4-5 yrs old.

VIOLET: Mutley's daughter, daddy was a Pit, solid tan, 2 yrs old.

PLEASE -- If anyone can take on a dog(s) or cat(s), let me know asap!!!!!! We'd love to be able to do the entire round-up, loading and transport in one swoop, starting early in the morning. I'm hoping for this Saturday, but that is tentative depending on who is open to receive. Friday morning might be another option. I just know they're running out of time! (I plan to get in touch with this bank lady if possible to let her know what my plan is so maybe that will buy some time.)
THANKS everyone! Appreciate my rescue friends!!!!!

BEAUTIFUL KITTENS LOOKING FOR A HOME!

Another calico tortie showed up in July. I thought she could be pregnant. She disappeared for a week. Then a month later four kittens showed up. I've included some photos. I haven't been able to get a photo of one of the kittens which is a gray tiger. They are about four or five weeks old now. I'm praying I will be able to socialize them and get them homes. I will get the mother spayed when the kittens are weaned. I haven't been able to really pet her, but hopefully she will start trusting me. If you have any suggestions or ideas on how to do that I could use them.

Yep, it's First Monday time in Canton! And here's our first "listing".....
These 2 gorgeous young female Pitts were found running through our
neighborhood cow pastures -- where they would surely be shot if spotted!
The fawn girl is young, about 7 months. Lots of puppy energy and still growing. She has no manners and is a bit skinny.
The red and white girl looks to be 1-2 yrs and has already had a litter, but in excellent shape. She has a black skid mark down the side of her face and neck like she may have been tossed?? Neither had collars. Her nails appearance and her inviting herself into the house tells me she's an inside dog. Great disposition, gentle around the 2 kids she's had exposure to. Didn't budge from the middle of the road as I approached and tried to jump in the car on her own. Nobody in our area knows these dogs, but one neighbor said they'd been roaming around all weekend.
Canton is NO place for a couple of unspayed female Pitts!!! Especially during FIRST MONDAY!! PLEASE! Can anyone help with these 2 girls? We're going to try to get them into the Canton Animal Shelter today, at least for now, while we try to find a safe place for them to go, as we have no foster homes or a place to hold them. But they stay full during this time, as well, so help is needed fairly quickly!
Thanks for any help you can provide!!! You can contact me by phone or email. I will be at the hospital all day but can work from my Blackberry. OK to crosspost to rescue networks ONLY!
