Star, a very gentle and submissive, probably young pit bull mix is in need of a forever home.

She is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative...she was found in the Waxahachie area about a month ago and rescuer got her healthy enough to be spayed in anticipation of finding a good home for her.

She is good with other dogs and with people but has not been around cats. She is housetrained.

She follows rescuer's male dog around property but doesn't wander off of immediate area. Loves her toys but mostly wants to be in your lap kissing your face.

This 2 yr.old little neutered male Chihuahua weighs about 6#.  He was truly rescued from under the wheels of a stopped semi on I-35 near Dallas.  Traffic was backed up for 3 miles while well meaning people tried to "cpture" this tiny terrified dog with coats, blankets, etc.  The dog was fear biting and most were afraid of being bitten.  The boyfriend of Hillary Guynn slipped up behind the dog and just scooped him up!  No bites!  The little guy was starved and severely dehydrated.  Hillary, a professional dog groomer, rehydrated him via syringe. Got him eating and healthy and had him neutered and Rabies vaccinated at KCAAP last Sept.  He follows her every step, hence the name; Shadow.
Hillary is moving from Canton to Edgewood, has other dogs already and recognizes that she cannot give Shadow the attention he craves and deserves.  She wants to rehome him to the right person or, at least, get him into a foster home within the next 2 weeks.  Shadow is a bit shy at first and very enamored with Hillary.  He is crate trained and very sweet once he knows you aren't a danger to him.

Her contact phone number is: 214 504-4085. Please network this little guy and let's get him a gentle loving forever home.

Thank you for anything you can do for Shadow,

Two beautiful, very large (she's 90#, he's 120#) yellow labs are in need of new homes...owner is going thru severe financial situation and can no longer provide care for them...they are about 6 years old - she's spayed and housetrained, he's not...

they both love cats, are good with people, have not been around other dogs...owner trying not to have to take them to a shelter...see her notes below...call Robin at 903-880-1115 or contact her at cc: address above...they are at Cedar Creek Lake...

She is a long-haired, very light yellow. He is a flat-haired, copper color. Sometimes people seem to think he's not full blood yellow lab because of his coloring, but Dr. Collinsworth assures me that he is.  Their shots, worming, annual checkups, etc. were due about 6-8 months ago, and that's about how long they've been off of their heartworm and flea meds. If you happen to find a home for them, their complete medical and shot records are at Lakeside Animal Clinic since they've never been to any other vet. I appreciate any help you can give me.

Sydney, I took this dog as a foster because she had 2 broken legs and needed special care and trips to the vet. She has recovered and now needs a forever home. I can't keep her. She chases the cats away. I have never known her to hurt one. She just thinks it's fun to chase them. I have to chain her when I leave to keep her out of trouble with the neighbors because she digs under the fence to play with other dogs.. I have cows, a horse, and other dogs. She gets along great with them and children. She has all her shots, been spayed..I have her medical records. She's crate trained, rides good in vehicles and was housebroken (will need work on that again, I'm sure). She is so sweet and loving. If I can't find her a home by the end of the week I will have to surrender her to Henderson County Animal Shelter. I really don't want to do that.

Thanks,

New info on this girl:  loves the pet door, gets along well with other dogs, likes little children, but I think that since she's so calm that she would make an ideal pet for a senior adult. Also I'm pretty sure I feel a scar from her being spayed.

This very scared, very well-fed terrier was found wandering in Seven Points - she has been living at an office building on highway 334 near the library. She weighs 34 lbs.  She is house trained and gets along other dogs and is very laid-back.

Spayed, housetrained PERFECT border collie needs a new home please!

A rescued female border collie mix is in need of a new forever home...she is spayed, housetrained, gets along great with other dogs and cats, is quiet indoors but a good outdoor watchdog (but prefers to be indoors with her humans).

Will come when called, loves older children (has never been around small children) and needs a fenced yard...she can catch treats in mid-air and will play catch with a ball...and she smiles!

The only negative about this dog is that she chases chickens which is why rescuer needs to find a home for her.

Pepper

Pickle

Hi All...... This weekend we were blessed with two female 10-11 week old "All American Mix" puppies. These girls were rescued from living on their own (mama dog "disappeared") in the cold under a delapidated home with a yard full of trash. Two ladies could not leave them & took them in on Friday night. One took them home for the evening, bathing, defleaing, feeding & keeping them warm & safe in her bathroom. Saturday morning I met her at our vet only to discover they both had scabies (mange), as well as being very wormy. They were given a thorough vet check, a shot of Ivermec & their first DHLPP puppy shot. They have now been dipped with Paramite (the 1st of 4 weekly dips required to rid them of the mange completely) & are being wormed with Panacur for the next 3 days. They are eating & drinking & playing like normal puppies; their poo looks normal; so far so good, their prognosis is positive.

SO.......
I am housing them temporarily while trying to find help for these two beauties. If anyone can assist, please let me know asap. I can also help with transport. I am hoping someone in rescue might be willing to take them, in hopes they'd have a few weeks to fully recover & get their hair growing back, then adopted into forever homes.

Pepper is female and weighs 7 lbs.
Pickle is a smaller 5lb female and is the dominant one.

Thanks everyone!

Beautiful dog wandering streets looking for a family!

I noticed him in the neighborhood on Tuesday and he's been hanging out at one of my neighbor's.  He is very attentive when someone drives by as if looking for his owner.

Maggie is a female lab mix: Indoors with backyard...doggie door preferred. Gentle enough for very small kids or frail elderly. House trained and potty trained. Not hyper!!!! Maggie is spayed, utd on shot, microchipped, heartworms negative. Loves to hold hands, good with cats, and with other dogs including tiny ones. Adoption fee to cover expenses.

Thanks,
Jetta Featherston

Julie is a 15 lb. Pomeranian. Unknown age, but appears to be young 1-2 yrs. My guess.... (Vet estimated 1 yr.old, if that). She was Spayed about 2 wks.ago, Started on Heartguard Tuesday, tested Neg. last week. She is pale apricot, shaded to cream on her belly. She is very sweet, calm, but can be frisky on occasion, & gets along well with my Doggies. She is getting along with a 6 yr spayed pom, a 4 year old neutered pom and a pom/chiweeine/Pappion? mix, spayed, of
undetermined age. All are smaller then she is. She is a little timid around
larger dogs, she seems to want to be as far away as possible from them, I noticed when I was walking her.

She has learned to potty (pee) on command with mine these last 2 weeks. To poop she needs to walk a while longer.

She has not asked to go out, but does go outside with all mine when we walk & does her business. I found out this morning that she can Bark, but it's not shrill & it's the first time I've heard her bark since she's been here (2 wks.), & not much whining.

She will walk on a leash without pulling. She misses her owner and wants to be loved.

Very Snuggly!

She lays still for mat removal, Bathed easily, Combed out Easily (no fighting the comb or brush) & has not shown any aggression at all.

She appears to have seperation anziety, but does well wth kenneling her while I'm not at home.

Julie's adoption fee is $50.00, to cover some of her Vet expenses.
Any other questions, please give me a call.

Thanks,
Linda Stout

Small, neutered, housetrained, ADORABLE little dog needs a forever home please!

This little terrier mix is about 1-1/2 yrs old - neutered - housetrained - vaccinated... he's great with other dogs and cats... VERY FRIENDLY... on hw preventative.

Call Kathy Jordan at 903-880-8822 or 903-432-3717 for more info.

Here is Roxie.  The poor little thing, about 35 pounds, is a boxer mix.  She was found by my friend's son, who saw the man dump them, her and puppies, and stopped to save them. All the puppies went to Operation Kindness. Of course, no body wants her. She has not seen a vet, as  my friend cannot afford that, or doesn't want to do it. But  she is being well cared for in Cathy's apartment. She has had no accidents at all. She walks well on a leash or not. Cathy said she is a sweetheart with people.

I have to get some more information about her, as to what she gets along with, etc. I will forward it.  I am worried about how long she will let her stay.  She is strictly a house dog. I will only let her go to someone whose background I have checked and who has a home check done.

There is a family that is looking to place their beloved. They lost their jobs but have since started working again. They still cannot give the little man what he needs and wants to rehome him. His name is Odie. Odie is a bassett/dachshund mix and is just adorable. He is about 2 to 3 years of age, neutered, microchiped, inside/outside baby, good with kids and other dogs. I am not sure on the shots or potty training. He is very healthy and well taken care of. They live in Highland park. If anyone knows of a place for this baby please let me know. I can possibly get him picked up and transported. He needs a new home before he is placed at a shelter.

There is also a 10 year old female mini dachshund, not with the same family that needs a home. She is spayed and very healthy but needs shots. The owners (@$$W!P#$) are tired of her and wants to rehome her. And yes I said tired of her. Her name is Gretchen and she is great with dogs and cats. They said the grandkids were bullying her. She is a bouncy ball of love with the personality of a puppy. We can also find transport for her if needed.

Please pass on the word, cross post. I am very fond of them long skinny dogs let me know if there are any interests. These babies need help.

I am hoping you can help me.  I need to find homes for my father's 2 dogs, Tommy and Candy. Unfortunately the time has come that he is no longer able to live at home and take care of them.  They are wonderful dogs.  I am taking another dog he has, but cannot take all 3.  He very much would like to not put them into a shelter, as they are such special dogs.  I am currently in New York, where I now live, but will be in Dallas on Feb. 21 to help my father move into the nursing home.  Can you help me find new or foster homes for these wonderful pets?  I can be reached by phone or e-mail to discuss this situation.
Here is the information on the dogs.  They are both up to date on their shots.

Tommy:
13 year old male, 50lbs, Mix of Golden Retriever and Corgi
The only health issue for him is some arthritis.
Tommy is a very sweet and friendly dog  and does well with other calm dogs, but since he is older, he does not do well with cats or children. He needs a quiet home and enjoys good loving.  He is not used to exercising much, and does go out into the yard, but doesn't need to stay long.  He does like to chat, he will bark to tell you when he wants attention, to be fed, go out, or that there's something happening on the street. He is a really good companion dog.

Candy:
9 year old female, 50lbs, Lab/retriever mix - short hair, reddish/ brown (a beautiful dog)
She has no health issues.
Candy is very, very shy and needs a quiet home with lots of love and snuggling.  She does not do well with cats or children.  She loves to play with other dogs that are not aggressive towards her and run around and play outside, although she is an indoor dog.  She has a beautiful, quiet, sweet disposition.  She's a sweetie.

Thank you so very much for you time.

Hello again.... I am reposting the need for 3 Arabian Mares to find homes by June.  My husband had a stroke last September and we have to sell our home here in Texas and are moving to Phoenix Arizona. It is not feasible for me to take them.  I had 5 but have thankfully found wonderful homes for 2 of the 5.  These last 3 I happened to take for free from someone who was going to take them to auction.  At the time, I had intended that my home would be there forever home.  However, circumstances unexpectedly changed and now they need good homes.  I will attach pictures.  If anyone knows anyone that is interested in any of them, please contact me via email at indecisivepc@hotmail.com and/or phone 903-355-0295.  Thanks so much.

Gray mare is around-ish and halter broke only.

Chestnut mare is around 12-ish?? and I have sat on her in a round pen and she didn't seem to care.. but broke??? not sure.

Bay mare is 4-ish and has had a saddle on and bridle in mouth but I haven't actually ridden her either.

All were papered Polish Arabians but the previous owner didn't send any  papers or vet records to me when I asked.

Warm Regards,
Patty ( Former Rescue volunteer in Grand Saline an member of C.L.A.W. in Canton)

Jake, who despite the name is a female dog, is in need of a new home. Her current family is gone most of every day and this girl is just not getting the attention she deserves and needs.

He is great with other dogs, cats and kids.

I have recently taken in 2 purebred German Shepherds for a friend who couldn't afford them anymore. However, my husband has recently had a stroke and I can no longer continue my rescue operations at this time.  I feel guilty as hell for having to ask you all for help.  As I got myself into this situation. ... but I have no other options.... please email if you know of a rescue or someone able to help me. I don't want to take them to the local shelters....Ugh.....

  • German Shepherds are 2 y/o, one male one female, spayed/neutered, utd on shots/rabies and on heartworm preventative.  Have been outdoor dogs while at my home.

Thanks to all of you .....

I was out on some land my family owns between Canton and Athens and this little guy walked up and needed some help. He was very hungry and cold... But after a bath, some food and water and a good night sleep... He is doing very well, no problems.
He is a male, some kind of lab mix (I think) very sweet and well mannered (kind of house trained already). He slept on the bathroom floor on a few towels last night and didn't cry at all.

My wife is allergic to dogs and we have a pool and not much of a backyard.  We are trying to adopt him out this week.
If you or someone you know would like a sweet puppy please let me know. He is in Dallas but I can meet you where I need to.

Thanks for your time,

I'd like to introduce BULLET, the handsome young Heeler-mix boy that was rescued from being short-chained in an old shed in Van Zandt County. After a neighbor fed & cared for him, then learned he was facing sure death, she came to his rescue & was able to get an owner-relinquishment. Another very wonderful rescuer then stepped in & gave him an immediate -- albeit temporary -- safe, clean & caring place to go.

Now all we have to do his help him find his REAL forever home!  Bullet is around 2 years old & weighs roughly 40 lbs. (the perfect size for an inside/outside family dog, in my opinion).  Although we do not know for sure if he is housetrained, he could be in no time!  He's smart, playful, likes kids & gets along well with other female dogs (males not known at this time).  With a little TLC & attention, Bullet will make a wonderful addition to any family. He is vaccinated & is scheduled for his neuter on 1/12/10. His adoption donation is being set at $50 to help cover vet/care expenses.

Bullet deserves to know what a dog's life SHOULD be like. Please, if you or someone you know can show this boy some love & give him a place he can run & play & enjoy life, consider granting Bullet a 2nd chance!  If you are interested in adopting, fostering or are a rescue that has room for another in need, please contact:

THANK YOU ON BEHALF OF BULLET & FRIENDS!

Mittens loves people, will be happy indoors. Will lie on her back in your arms and gently touch your face. Very cuddly, approx 6 months old with 4 white feet, great personality. Has been spayed and vaccinated for rabies.

This kitty has tested positive for feline AIDS, which is contagious to other cats through saliva... so she needs to be an inside and ONLY cat... it is NOT contagious to dogs or people.

She will be a wonderful family member to some lucky people!

German shepherd needs medical treatment AND a forever home please!

I have a German shepherd rescue that was rescued a year ago in February. We live at Cedar Creek lake, East TX. The poor guy had issues when he was rescued and we have continued to try to help him. We have spent so much at the vets with so many vet visits. We currently own $168 at Morton's in Athens. He needs to be tested for EPI $140 (Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency). The vets have done all kinds of checks on Sam. THis is the last test to be done and there is a chance he will have EPI. He has no parasites inside or out. Nothing shows up as to why he is having his issues other than he has severe allergies. But the allergies are not the cause of the weight loss or skin condition. The last test needed to be done is to check for EPI. If it is positive he will need to be on medicine for the rest of his live but this will help live a longer healthier life than what he is living now. At this point if he doesn't get better he will not survive and we will have to make a very unwanted decision. He is also having to be put on a special diet because of his allergies and health condition. Sam cannot have red meat, raw meat, fatty foods and etc... He is on a diet of lamb and rice and is fed an excessive amount because of his poor weight gain. His diet is expensive but it is what he needs. Is there anyone that knows of any groups that can help us with Sam? We need financial assistance to get him what he needs. He is still a young boy and deserves a chance. Please email me personally if you can help.

We took him from his owners last February. He was not being feed or watered, nor did he have shelter. He was tied up in the cold wet rain. He had mange and severe malnutrition (which is the cause of his ailments now). I had him treated for mange. He was on antibiotics, had lots of dipping and baths. He got a little better for a while. His hair started to grow back. The vet put him on thyroid medicine that he did not need. Different vet than I am taking him to now. He was nuetered and given all his shots. Then his hair feel out again. We tried all kinds of medicines, diets, dipping shampoos, etc... We thought the mange came back but nothing that we were doing was working. The vet had no idea what was wrong. I ended up taking him to Morton's in Athens. I want to take him back Saturday for the test if I can. I know the stest if high and I already own money. There are two medicines that I found that are for EPI, Viokase or Pancrezyme. He is a big boy and I don't know how much he will need if in fact that is his problem.

Thanks a bunch in advance!

Bloomie

Max

We are trying to help place these two fully vetted PB Shepherds into rescue.  If I can't find a rescue to take them, I'm also looking for help in getting them posted for adoption to the public.

Bloomie, the female & Max, the male (who is camera shy) are both 2 yrs. old & have been together for life.  I'm not holding out hope that I can get them placed or adopted as a pair, although that would be GREAT!

They are both altered, utd on shots and have been kept on hw preventative.  These two are extremely loving & well mannered and will even eat from the same bowl at the same time!   They are good with kids (amazing with babies) and mesh & play well with other dogs, they haven't chased cats thus far & have had opportunities.  Neither have shown any inclination toward roaming or running off when outside our fenced area.

I'm helping a friend try to place these two due to her husband's health. They are currently with me and I will serve as their foster/contact for now.

If I cannot get them into a rescue...  Would one of you courtesy list them on PetFinder for me?  Any adoption donation received would most certainly go to the group who helps Bloomie and Max find a home.

Thanks,

Animal Rescue, Canton, Tx.

Duchess and Duke have been at the shelter for about a month and no one has shown any interest.  Both are completely vetted, HW neg.  They came in together from a private individual because they lost their home.  Duchess is 4 yr old and Duke is 2 yrs old.

They need rescue ASAP.  Please contact me at this email if you can help.

Thank you,

The lady at Lake Athens passed away in Hospice last Thursday. The family is in Athens from California and has given us the responsibility of finding the animals new homes. The HSCCL sent a crew yesterday evening. They took all the cats that could be found. FANTASTIC!!!! We have 27 dogs to be placed. Placing them one at a time would be great!

Most we feed are S/N. They are all adults. All are living with other dogs. There are Flat-coated Retriever mixes-black; Golden Retriever mixes- gold; Lab mixes-black; Cow dog mixes blk/grey/white.

My mom has 2 ,1 yr old puppies that shes had taken in to her home . Her landlord came by and said that she has to get rid of them, (landlords words not mine)

If she doesnt find them homes then she will be evicted. That was said Friday, it is now Tues. I called the knor office and told them that I have them at a temporary home, but I didnt, My mom doesnt want to just drop them off at a pound.

Please contact Danielle Nally at mommyslittlegirlarie@hotmail.com

Mom has been living on the street for about a year and was very difficult to catch.  And the only reason we caught her now is because she had 9 puppies in the woods next to the shelter.  I found a foster for her and the babies.  About a week after they were born, Kaufman County AC brought in 3 Rottie looking babies that had not opened their eyes.  Mom graciouly took them.  And shortly after that, Kaufman County AC brought in a yellow lab looking baby without his eyes open and she took this puppy too.  She has been nursing 13 puppies and is doing a great job.

In about 2 weeks, the puppies will be ready to wean and they will need someplace to go.  Mom will need a place to go as well.  Please consider fostering some of the puppies or Mom.  Mom needs socialization and a kind hand.

Thank you for your consideration.

Here is a dog I found on the road about one and a half or 2 years ago. I had her spayed at Friends and an elderly lady adopted her that very day. Her husband was very sick and died Oct. 2008. She also broke her back and had to have surgery. She is unable to go outside to play with the dog because her bones are very brittle and she cannot take a change because of this Trixie loves other dogs and would go down to the neighbors to play with their 3 dogs. The former owner  had acreage, but  because of her back, she cannot take a change on falling. Trixie is housetrained and loves company. The former owner said Trixie liked to walk neighbor children to the bus stop and make sure they got on the bus for school. She was not around cats so don't know about that.  We picked her up and she licked my hand all the way to the shelter where she is staying for now.

If someone is interested, I could bring her to the Friends of the Animals clinic or she can be seen at Henderson County Humane Society in Athens.

Please open your heart to this precious dog.

Thank You!
